The logic in Karl May's stories
I am an American graduate student who is writing on the logic in Karl May's
stories, and the influence of that logic. It is a third form of logic, in
addition to inductive and deductive logic. The third form is called
abductive
logic. It was discovered by an American philosopher, Charles Sanders
Peirce,
in 1901, but has only become accepted by logicians and philosophers (and
many
other fields) since the 1980s. I am looking to find someone to talk to
about
Karl May. Right now, I most need to find out what he was doing in Linz,
Austria, in 1901, where he is reported to have stayed for a year at a hotel.
Is there any one you know who can help me -- in English. Leider, spreche Ich
nur ein bischen Deutsch.
Thank you,
Ben Novak
